Here is a quickie entry. I can see I wont really get the rest done till we get back. Still I will be able to take my time then and hopefully entertain and amaze you (said Marco Polo)


A restaurant with, lets face it, not a professional dance group.
But the surprise of the night, apart from our personal fireworks display, was this virtuoso on the ur dah, a two stringed instrument.
This guy could easily tour Oz as featured soloist.





Next day we went to the Mogao Caves ancient caves. Highlight was the 33 metre high carved Buddha and a number of caves with original wall and ceiling painting going back to the 9th century.
